Don’t
burn bridges behind you; concentrate on building the bridge that is before
you.
I would
have refused “Tough Love” had anyone tried to offer it to me in my early
sobriety. But I am learning now that I must perform some kind of "tough love" on
myself if I am to survive. “I have to keep my sobriety on a very short leash,”
as I’ve variously heard it described at my Twelve Step meetings.
